Safe at Home – The Pillowcase Project

The American Red Cross established the Pillowcase Project in partnership with the Disney Corporation (2005) to help families with natural disasters and house/dwelling fires.

Preparing for emergencies will help your family develop coping skills in case a sudden weather or fire event ever happens.

  1. Know the floor plan of your home/apartment.
  2. Create a fire escape plan and
  3. Identify the safest place to take cover in the event of a tornado.
  4. Have practice fire and tornado drills at home.

When you are prepared, you are less likely to panic in case of an emergency.
